Second Harvest Volunteer Day

January 10, 2026 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am

What Will I Be Doing?

Volunteers help prepare donated food items so they are safe, organized, and ready for distribution to our partner agencies.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Inspect donations for damage
  • Check product quality
  • Verify expiration dates
  • Repack donations as needed

Occasional Tasks

As needed, no set schedule.

  • Bag produce and frozen packaged meats
  • Assemble Kids Snack Packs
  • Restock coolers in the Agency Mart area
  • Assemble disaster relief boxes

Important Note:

Our partner agencies rely on this work. All products must be properly sorted before they can be distributed. Your role is critical in helping families and communities receive safe, quality food.

About Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in our community. The food bank collects, stores, and distributes food through a network of more than 870 feeding partners across seven counties: Brevard, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia.

These partners include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, schools, healthcare sites, and more. Through mobile food distributions, home deliveries, and nutrition programs, Second Harvest extends its reach even further, helping ensure that nutritious food gets to neighbors where and when it is needed most.

Your volunteer service plays a vital role in supporting this network and helping provide food with dignity to families across Central Florida.
